We love this graphic from Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan. It sums up why a morning ritual is so valuable. Starting the day in a way that ensures you are taken care propels you into the day allowing you to show up as your best self. A morning ritual also serves as a great "restart button". No matter how crappy a day goes, we always know that our morning ritual not only gives us a clean slate, but puts us in the frame of mind to take on whatever life throws at us. It's kind of like putting on a mental bulletproof vest (or at least bullet-resistant! HA!)
Who doesn't want to be their best self?
As moms and caregivers, if we don't take care of ourselves, then we can end up taking it out on those around us: our friends, families, or kiddos. Studies have show that lack of sleep, nutrition, exercise are a recipe for disaster, and it doesn't take a lot of time to take care of these things, it just takes a plan! A morning ritual is like a mini-plan to jumpstart your day. If you aren't a natural planner, it's a great place to start.
